PHIL'S CARAVAN ( Phil’s Kombi ) Parked along the coast somewhere You could watch the ocean roll from there Spend a week or stay a day Look at the world a different way We would surf and smoke a while The conversation ’d make you smile Just leave your board there on the sand By Phil’s caravan Julianne and sweet Suzie There was always room for you and me We’d build a fire as night-time falls Guitars play and currawongs call And the stars are sure shinin’ bright In the southern skies tonight Mysterious and grand On Phil’s caravan Watch the sun rise from way out on the sea Crystal waves break over me Take a wave and take some more As dogs chase seagulls on the shore Kennett River, Johanna too Even when the wild southwest storm winds blew Good friendship could withstand In Phil’s caravan Drivin’ down that old ocean road It doesn’t seem that long ago But all the joints we hung around The fires came through and burnt ’em down But the faithful beach, she’s still waitin’ there And I still get a wave somewhere And reminisce about the band And Phil’s caravan And Phil’s caravan Mm … And Phil’s caravan Parked along the coast somewhere Along the coast somewhere

THE LOVE I HAVE FOR YOU The love I have for you Is burnin’ like a star Shinin’ through the darkest night For you wherever you are Always there to give you hope Always there to see you through The love I have for you The love I have for you The love I have for you Is part of what is me Part of every breath I breathe Every heartbeat yours for free Been here since the dawn of time Yet every moment it is new The love I have for you The love I have for you The love I have for you Is what life is all about The reason for the sun to rise For the clouds to float about For the mighty waves to roll Out on the ocean turquoise blue The love I have for you The love I have for you The love I have for you The love I have for you The love I have for you The love I have for you The love I have for you The love I have for you

THE BEST YEARS Well, I know it’s almost Christmas ’Cause the silky oak is bloomin’ gold again And I’m losin’ my resistance To the ocean callin’ me back home again No, I’d never after this time Have believed the wonder still could be within As I’m standin’ on the shoreline And a song comes singin’ to me in the wind These are the best years The you’d-never-have-guessed years Even better than the ones before The times you thought you’d never see again These are the best years The you’d-never-have-guessed years Even better than the ones before The times you thought you’d never see again Bein’ out there on the ocean Well, you feel just like the earth and you are one You can ride the crystal waves in ’Til the last seagull comes flyin’ to the sun ’Til the Southern Cross comes shinin’ ’Til the pastel sunset fades to summer black And your whole life’s redefinin’ As another day comes dawnin’ out the back These are the best years The you’d-never-have-guessed years Even better than the ones before The times you thought you’d never see again These are the best years The you’d-never-have-guessed years Even better than the ones before The times you thought you’d never see again These are the best years The you’d-never-have-guessed years Even better than the ones before The times you thought you’d never see again These are the best years The you’d-never-have-guessed years Even better than the ones before The times you thought you’d never see again Yeah, yeah, yeah These are the best years

Summertime 06:38
SUMMERTIME I remember that summer evening we went walkin’ With the full moon rising in your eyes Down on the beach we got to talkin’ With the lighthouse shinin’ through the night Yeah And we decided we’d spend the night there Up in the sand hills, down by the sea And we held each other tight there With the ocean crashin’ I can still hear you breathe And your lips so sweet and tender And your velvet skin divine I think we’ve found forever Forever young, forever summertime But tell me, what’s the use in just a memory Like ocean mist that lingers on Of something wonderful but temporary You had it right there, but then it’s gone And now it just gets me restless Just keeps me hungry Just leaves me lonely And now it just gets me restless Just keeps me hungry Just leaves me lonely Just leaves me lonely

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE LUCKY COUNTRY ? Concrete tar and cars You’d be better off on Mars This city’s just a factory of mindless consumers With no time left to think about the earth We’re in trouble now Nearly lost the chance we found Taken it for granted, what we dug out of the ground Couldn’t see the forest for the trees and cut it down What happened to the lucky country ? What happened to the lucky country ? Wild and innocent and brave What happened to the lucky country ? They chopped it down and they shipped it away We follow Uncle Sam Like sheep without a plan Participate in violence in someone else’s land “Reap what you sow”, and we’ll all be damned An equal land for all With the first ones standin’ tall Helpin’ out each other when your back’s against the wall Let the wild lands be, let the lonesome dingo call What happened to the lucky country ? What happened to the lucky country ? The one the Anzacs fought to save What happened to the lucky country ? Dreamtime warriors turn in their grave What happened to the lucky country ? What happened to the lucky country ? Slowly slippin’ away What happened to the lucky country ? We cashed it in, it was sold yesterday What happened to the lucky country ? What happened to the lucky country ? Where the bush kids used to play What happened to the lucky country ? They dug it up and they shipped it away The land was plundered and left in decay They cashed it in, it was sold yesterday What happened to the lucky country ? What happened to the lucky country ?

IF YOU REALLY LOVE SOMEONE There’s a price you’ll pay If you really love someone There’s a price some day If you really love someone If you really love someone If you really love someone If you really love someone And there’s one thing you’ll learn If you really love someone How much your heart can burn If you really love someone If you really love someone If you really love someone If you really love someone Well, you might think they know If you really love someone But you better let it show You better let it show If you really love someone If you really love someone If you really love someone If you really love someone There’s a price you’ll pay If you really love someone Someone

FALLEN FOR YOU You’re the only one That brings my heart undone And drives me to despair ’Cause I just wanna be For all eternity With you everywhere But that can never be What am I gonna do ? Now that I’ve Fallen for you Fallen for you Fallen for you Fallen for you Well, I’m no religious man Don’t think no higher plan Is really written for me And I never believed That angels lived and breathed But I believe what I see And it’s a leap of faith ’Cause my heart is true Now every day I pray Fallen for you Fallen for you Fallen for you Fallen for you And only time will tell If this is heaven or this is hell Or just a waste of time But I’m in the moment now I’m lost and I am found Thanks to this heart of mine And it won’t let me be And I don’t want it to It’s runnin’ wild and free Fallen for you Fallen for you Fallen for you Fallen for you Fallen for you Fallen for you Fallen for you Fallen for you

LONESOME HIGHWAY It’s taken all this time To realise it’s mine Don’t let it get you down We’re only spinnin’ round And another year goes by Gone astray Out on the lonesome highway What can it all mean ? We’ve fallen in between If the good times are all gone But that’s where we belong Still another year goes by Come what may Out on the lonesome highway What can it all mean ? We’ve fallen in between Don’t let it get you down We’re only spinnin’ round Out on the lonesome highway Lonesome highway Lonesome highway

An Angel 03:56
AN ANGEL An angel Flyin’ down from heaven Flyin’ down to save me Save me from this world To free me from the hunger Free me from the danger To save me from the stranger Days that have unfurled An angel An angel I feel you here beside me I feel you here to guide me The grateful choice to make To keep me kind and happy Free from fret or envy The lovin’ light you send me Shows the best path to take An angel An angel An angel You must be an angel An angel You must be an angel An angel You must be an angel An angel You must be an angel

IRONBARK ROAD It’s only rocks and gravel And sand that you could shovel With wheel-ruts where a truck once lost its load But in my mind I take my time Down ironbark road The dark trees stand together Committed friends forever Through drought and bushfire Hard times they have hoed In furrowed bark Their scars are stark On ironbark road The gentle rain is falling A currawong is calling Kangaroo prints beat that path I know I watch them jump I hear them thump Down ironbark road Deep breaths of gum and wattle Of damp earth, rich and subtle You can almost taste the ancient land below But a pebble skip Across the top Is ironbark road Washed away and winding The old track keeps on climbing Onto the ridge where lonely grass-trees grow See the mountains far From where you are On ironbark road Hear the ocean hummin’ Feel the west wind comin’ Watch the angry evening clouds explode From high up on That hill along Ironbark road See the colours changing The restless ocean raging As sunset takes back the last light it sowed And I’m left to walk Walk back in the dark Down ironbark road
